Stacy Ireti Akinyemi Memorial Endowed Scholarship


Stacy Akinyemi This endowment is established in memorial of Stacy Ireti Akinyemi, who was an amazing gift from God that was treasured by her family and friends.

Stacy Ireti Akinyemi was born on Sunday, October 1, 1989, in Fort Worth, Texas to the proud parents of Yinka and Nadine Akinyemi; and as a Princess in the Akinjobi ruling family of Owu Kingdom. She was one of four siblings, an older sister, Natasha, and twin brothers, Ryan and Alan.
 
Stacy had an infectious smile that could enlighten you with so much happiness. She loved God and served as a youth teacher at New Life fellowship Church. Stacy also had talent for art and fashion.
 
Stacy attended The University of Texas at Arlington and later transferred to the University of North Texas where she graduated with a Bachelor degree in Merchandising. She returned to the University of Texas at Arlington and was pursuing a double Master’s degree in Marketing and in Finance while working full time. With her strong passion for Christ, Stacy was really looking forward to making a difference in her community. She felt that completing the MSMR program would give her the necessary tools to make an impact. Stacy's 3 written goals were:
1. “To be a Servant leader”.
2. “To know truly who I am in Christ”.
3. “To do all things for God's glory”.


The Stacy Ireti Akinyemi Memorial Endowed Scholarship shall be a permanent endowment and shall be used for the benefit of the College of Business. Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used to provide scholarships to students enrolled in the Master of Science in Marketing Research and/or Master of Business Administration graduate programs in the College of Business.

Applicants must have financial need (a written statement on how s/he would benefit from receiving the scholarship should be submitted with the scholarship application) and show academic merit (based on GMAT/GRE scores and Grade Point Average). Exact criteria will be specified once the scholarship endowment is funded and awards are available.
