The Undergraduate Sales Certificate Program

The Sales Certificate program is built on a strong theoretical background but emphasizes applications and practice.  The Sales Certificate Program is available to both business and non-business majors.

Program Requirements for Business Majors

The Sales Certificate requires 18-credit hours for Business Majors with 12-credit hours from required courses and 6-credit hours from elective classes as described below.

  1. Business majors enrolled in the Sales Certificate Program must take the following classes:
    • BCOM 3360 – Effective Business Communications
    • MARK 3321 – Principles of Marketing
    • MARK 3322 – Professional Selling
    • MARK 4308 – Managing and Leading the Sales Force
  2. Students enrolled in the Sales Certificate Program must take one course from the following:
    • MARK 3323 – Integrated Marketing Communications
    • MARK 4303 – Retail and Services Marketing
  3. Students enrolled in the Sales Certificate Program must also take one course from the following:
    • MARK 4393 – Marketing Internship. For MARKETING MAJORS ONLY
    • MANA 4341 – Negotiations and Conflict Resolution
    • MANA 4310 – Business and Society

Program Requirements for Non-Business Majors

The Sales Certificate requires 21-credit hours for Non-Business Majors with 18-credit hours from required courses and 3-credit hours from an elective class as described below.

  1. Required Courses
    • BCOM 3360 – Effective Business Communications
    • ECON 2306 – Principles of Microeconomics
    • MANA 3318 – Managing Organizational Behavior
    • MARK 3321 – Principles of Marketing
    • MARK 3322 – Professional Selling
    • MARK 4308 – Managing and Leading the Sale Force
  2. Non-business majors enrolled in the Sales Certificate Program must take one class from the following:
    • MANA 4341 – Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
    • MARK 3323 – Integrated Marketing Communications
    • MARK 4303 – Retail and Services Marketing
