Scholarship Applications

The award of a scholarship will not be affected in any way by race, religion, creed, or gender, but will be awarded on the basis of the student’s potential and interest in a degree program in marketing. Award amounts are typically $500, $1000 and $5000. In-state tuition rates may apply to recipients of scholarship awards of $1000 or more.

The Master of Science in Marketing Research (MSMR) Scholarship

This scholarship may be awarded to continuing students or new students, with strong preference given to students who meet the following criteria:

Continuing Students

  • Current GPA of at least 3.2;
  • Completion of at least 9 graduate hours in the MSMR program;
  • Enrollment in at least 9 graduate hours for the spring and fall semesters;
  • Prior receipt of no more than one competitive scholarship while in the program.

New Students:

  • Pending funds availability, scholarships will be awarded to new MSMR students entering the program to study full-time (i.e., at least 9 graduate hours) in the fall or spring semesters. Students who enter in the summer term are considered to be new students in the fall semester for purposes of the scholarship award. Students must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.25 in courses completed at an accredited college or university.

The Philip Barnard Endowed Scholarship

The Philip Barnard Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by the University of Texas at Arlington to recognize the contributions of industry leader Philip Barnard. Mr. Barnard served as an inspirational member of the MSMR Advisory Board from its formation in 1995 through 1999.

Recipients of this scholarship:

  • Must be a declared marketing research major currently enrolled (or intending to enroll) in the Master of Science in Marketing Research (MSMR) program at UTA;
  • Must have completed a minimum of nine (9) semester hours of courses in the MSMR Program or have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Must have achieved a minimum of overall GPA of 3.25 and a minimum MSMR GPA of 3.25 in courses completed at an accredited college or university;
  • Must have at least nine (9) semester hours of study remaining to complete the MSMR degree at UTA;

The Sales & Marketing Executives of Fort Worth Endowed Scholarship

The Sales & Marketing Executives of Fort Worth Endowed Scholarship was established by the Fort Worth Marketing Foundation to The University of Texas at Arlington to provide financial assistance to undergraduate or graduate students majoring in the field of marketing.

Recipients of this scholarship:

  • Must be a current or declared marketing major enrolled in the College of Business at UTA;

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • A minimum enrollment of 9 credit hours for the fall and/or spring semester;
  • minimum overall GPA of 2.0 in major
