Dr. Robert "Bob" Rogers
Dr. Bob Rogers’ professional career spans academic and business sectors. Bob received his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska in 1979. He has filled full-time positions at the University of Nebraska (1976-1977), the University of Georgia (1977-1980) and the University of New Mexico both at the R. O. Anderson Schools of Management (1980-2000) and in the School of Public Administration (2003-2004). Bob has served in executive positions in marketing research and general marketing consulting companies; from 2000 to 2003 Bob was the Manager of Public Opinion Research for Intel Corporation.
“Being involved with marketing thought has been a part of my lifestyle, but marketing research is a passion.”
Bob’s research interests represent a very eclectic view of the world. He has published in the areas of consumer behavior, with a focus on shopping behavior, smoking behavior and time use; his publications also represent an interest in communication behavior; recently, Bob has been researching methodological issues in conducting research, as evidenced by projects involving concerns with use of the internet as a data collection device and how response patterns to scales vary by scale types.
“I have been fortunate enough to have found places to work and people to associate with who have supported my curiosity.”
Bob brings balance to his life by serving on the Board of Directors of EASi, Inc., a company providing evaluative and therapeutic services to the disadvantaged and acting as a volunteer with United Way and the Veteran’s Administration. He is an avid golfer and enjoys playing bridge.
“We should strive to bring balance into our lives. It makes being here so much more interesting.”
