MSIS Systems Development Track

The Systems Development (SD) track is composed of 33 hours of coursework concentrating on the analysis, design, and implementation of business systems and their management issues. Courses in this track cover such topics as object-oriented technology, data base design, advanced systems design techniques, and project management.

The MSIS program with the SD track will consist of the following required courses.

  • BSTAT 5325 Advanced Statistics
  • INSY 5337 Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
  • INSY 5339 Data Mining
  • INSY 5342 Advanced Design
  • INSY 5357 Enterprise Resource Planning
  • INSY 5373 Project Management
  • INSY 5375 Management of Information Technologies
  • elective hours as approved by Graduate Advisor**

Upon approval by the MSIS Graduate Advisor, INSY electives can be chosen from courses listed in the Graduate Catalog when offered.

**If the prospective student has no IT coursework or significant IT work experience that covers the necessary prerequisites, INSY 5309, INSY 5335, and INSY 5341 will be required as electives.
