MSIS Cohort Program
The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) Cohort program consists of a set of industry-focused courses built on a foundation of business core principles culminating in an integrated capstone class and industry-related project. The objective of this program is to provide managers of various functional business areas the necessary knowledge to effectively interface with the Information Technology organization.
The MSIS Cohort program allows the same group of students to take 2-3 courses per semester but only one class at a time in accelerated, five week sessions. Classes meet throughout the program on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-10 p.m. allowing the program to be completed in under 16 months.
The graduate of this program will be able to
- Apply knowledge of MIS to enhance organizational effectiveness
- Demonstrate understanding of organizational and technical aspects of the information systems development life cycle
- Demonstrate strategic planning characteristics for the technical aspects of a business to include technology evaluation, cost/benefit analysis, and technology investment strategy
- Demonstrate communication skills to work effectively in the business and technical environment
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills to critically identify problems, determine a strategy to address the problem, and recommend a solution to the problem both in the technical environment and in the broader business environment
