Money Smart Week workshops, credit counseling available for UTA and Arlington community

The Department of Finance at the UTA College of Business will host a series of financial literacy workshops as well as free credit counseling during Money Smart Week, April 25-28, on the UTA campus.

UTA students and the Arlington community are invited to receive personal financial advice and credit consultations from financial services professionals 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the locations indicated below, all on the UTA campus. Experts from Dallas-Fort Worth area financial institutions will give free workshops on various topics to improve financial literacy (see schedule below).

In partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the FDIC, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, UTA Libraries, Student Money Management Center and Financial Fitness Dallas-Fort Worth, UTA invites the community to celebrate Financial Literacy Month by becoming more informed about credit, financing loans, budgeting, and more.

Professional loan officers will be available to offer personal credit report evaluations and recommendations for improvement. Attendees will obtain a free copy of their credit report, which they can print on site and take with them, in addition to the consultation, without affecting their credit score.
