Abstract

Has the technology train left the station with the majority of your faculty still in the coffee shop? This workshop will demonstrate three technology applications (conceptual mapping, on line course package, audio-graphic links) combined with an effective learning model for enabling non-technology faculty to integrate technology into their teaching.

Focus of Workshop

Along with presenting key concepts from research on change and professional development, this workshop introduces, with hands-on-instruction, three types of software in a professional development design that meets the standards for faculty at various levels of acceptance of technology. Participants will not only identify direct application of the software for classes in their programs but will construct professional development strategies for introducing the software to their faculty

We will demonstrate and work with the following:

· Conceptual Mapping: Inspiration Software

· On Line Course Development: Blackboard Web Course Tools

· Audio-graphic conferencing: CentraNow

Web Page

A web page will be available to participants with links to relevant research on change, professional development, and the software used in the workshop.
