What We Want

Equality

• We want all teenagers who are parents to be treated equally by all elements of society
• We want teenage fathers to be as easily identified as teenage mothers

Justice

• We want teenage fathers to bear as much responsibility as teenage mothers
• Teenage parents (both father and mother) should be required to take parenting classes and job training classes.  Special attention should be given to boys in classes where the parents will not marry to insure that they understand and prepare for their lifetime responsibilities. 

Resources

• We want programs in all schools to prepare teenage fathers to be good supporting parents
• We want teenage fathers to support their children from their first day of life until they are age 18
• We want professionals (counselors, social workers, psychologists) to receive equal training on working with teenage fathers as with teenage mothers
