Business Undergraduate Advising

Prospective Students

How do I get started?

If you are interested in the College of Business at UTA, you should first apply for undergraduate admission. Be sure to refer to the freshman and transfer student checklists to ensure that you don’t miss any important steps. Additionally, once you’ve been accepted to UTA, visit the after you’re accepted webpage for more information.

When do I meet with my advisor?

After acceptance, freshman students will meet with the advisors in the University Advising Center while transfer students, with at least 24 credit hours, will meet with a Business Advisor.

To make the most effective use of your time with the advisor, transfer students are encouraged to bring a copy of their most recent college transcript to the advising appointment. During the appointment, we will evaluate your transcript, review the admission requirements for the College of Business as well as the course requirements of your desired major, and address any questions you may have.

Feel free to book your appointment now.

I’m transferring from a community college. What courses will the College of Business accept?

Transfer Equivalency Charts are provided for many of the local community colleges in order to determine what courses can be used toward a business degree at UTA.

If you do not find your community college listed at the above link, UTA Admissions provides additional Transfer Equivalency Guides.

If you are unable to locate a specific course on any of the Transfer Equivalency Charts or Guides and would like our Degree Plan Evaluator to review it for consideration, obtain the course description and submit it along with a completed Degree Worksheet Request to the Business Advising Center.
