Is there a generic website where I can find all information on the Business School?

Yes, you can find information on the business programs at this website.

What are the admission requirements for getting into the Master’s Programs?

Each program has different admission requirements. For information on an individual program please go to this site and click on the program that interests you.

When will a decision be made about my application?

There is no set timeframe within which a decision will be made. As applications are processed they are distributed to the admission committees for decisions. To ensure a faster admission decision, please make sure all of the documents required for admission are provided before the posted application deadline. Processing of admissions tends to slow down around the start of a semester due to the volume of applications.

Who evaluates student applications?

Applications are evaluated by the program committees.

Do I have to take my GMAT before I get accepted to a program?

Most programs in the College of Business require you to complete the GMAT prior to admission into the program. There are several programs that may waive that requirement. To get detailed information on GMAT information you can call Graduate Business Services at 817.272.3005. You may also review the Graduate Catalog for the details on each program admission requirements.

Can I receive a probationary admission decision without my GMAT score and then take my GMAT after I am admitted (during my first semester as a graduate student)?

If a program requires a GMAT, you must take it as a condition of admission. You will not be able to enter the program on probationary or provisional admission without the GMAT.

Can I submit my application and take the GMAT later?

Yes, you may take your GMAT later. If your program requires the GMAT, an admission decision will not be made until you have submitted your GMAT scores. If you meet the program admission criteria, a provisional admission can be made based upon an unofficial GMAT score report. If admitted, official GMAT scores will need to be sent to the Graduate School prior to the end of the first admitted semester.

Where can I find out about my F-1 status?

Do I have to take the TOEFL if I am an international student?

An applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate a sufficient level of skill with the English language to assure success in graduate studies. Applicants must submit a score of at least 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, a score of at least 213 on the computer-based TOEFL, a minimum score of 40 on the TSE, a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS, or a minimum TOEFL iBT total score of 79 with sectional scores that meet or exceed 22 for the writing section, 21 for the speaking section, 20 for the reading section, and 16 for the listening section to meet this requirement. An applicant holding either a bachelor's or a master's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university is not required to submit a TOEFL, TOEFL iBT, TSE or IELTS score for admission purposes. Any other waivers of the score requirements must be recommended by the applicant's Graduate Advisor and approved by the Dean of Graduate Studies.

How much does it cost to get a Master’s degree at UT Arlington?

Programs vary in length. It costs approximately $1400 per 3 hours course for in-state students and approximately $2330 for international students. To get an idea of costs please use the tuition cost estimator.

What is the process in getting courses waived and/or substituted?

Waivers will initially be addressed at the New Student Orientation. After that, for any other waiver or substitute questions, you will need to talk with your Advisor.

Why are some classes only taught once a year?

Most core or foundation courses are offered all three semesters. Some advanced classes are only taught once a year due to student demands, classroom space and instructor availability.

How does Financial Aid affect my course load?

To qualify for most forms of financial aid administered through the Office of Financial Aid, students must enroll in and complete a certain number of credit hours each semester to meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements to receive future financial aid. To ensure you understand the requirements for your financial aid, you need to talk with the Financial Aid office. Their telephone number is 817.272.3561.

Can I take all my core courses in a community college?

Once admitted as a graduate student you will take graduate courses. Prior to your admission you may take some of your core/foundation courses at a community college. Check with your Advisor to see which courses might be used to waive core/foundation courses and what requirements you must meet. Each program has different requirements.

Which core courses can be waived from my graduate program of work?

It is dependent on your program. Each program has different core/foundation courses. This will be discussed during New Student Orientation.

What is the duration of the MBA program?

The MBA program can be as few as 36 hours or as many as 45 hours depending upon your previous coursework.

What is your transfer policy?

How do I change the semester I am enrolling?

You will need to submit a Request to Update/Reactivate Application form. You can find that information here.

Can I earn two master’s degrees at the same time?

You can apply to a second master’s program while attending the College of Business. You must meet the admission requirements for the new program. You can talk with either advisor of the programs you are interested in or visit Graduate Business Services for more information.

Where do I submit my application?

Submit your application online to the Graduate School. You may submit your letters of recommendation, resume and 200 word academic essay to Graduate Business Services (GBS).
