Internships

The internship program is an excellent partnership between the Career Services Office, the College, and the corporate community. It allows students to gain valuable experience in an industry or functional area, including the application of advanced business skills learned in the program. Up to 3 hours of academic credit may be earned for internships by completing 1, 2, or 3 semester hour internship classes. For course numbers see the appropriate Internship Coordinator.

Students should begin planning early for an internship. The process starts by completing Internship Form 1. The Program Advisor completes Form 1 stating that you have met the requirements to do an internship. To get credit for an internship, the student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, have completed at least 9 hours of graduate work and have 3 hours available in advanced business electives. Since there is a deadline for completing these forms prior to the start of classes, check with the Internship Coordinator for details.

Each department in the College has an Internship Coordinator that can explain the internship program and the special requirements to earn academic credit. Visit this coordinator and discuss the requirements for that department.
