PhD in Business Administration
We are delighted with your interest in our Ph.D. programs in Business Administration. These pages give an overview of the program structure, provide information on the major fields of study, and discuss admission requirements and the application process. The Ph.D. major fields of study include accounting, finance, information systems, management, marketing, management science/operations management.
The College of Business (COB) has offered the Ph.D. degree for more than 20 years and has graduated over 200 doctoral students. The College offers high-quality, academically rigorous doctoral programs that prepare students to conduct relevant research on a wide variety of business issues. All COB programs, including the Ph.D. programs, are fully accredited by AACSB, which ensures high academic standards. UTA is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as “Doctoral/Research University—High Activity,” the highest level for a research university. Most COB faculty members are active researchers, and many are internationally recognized for their scholarly achievements.
UTA is continuing to prove its dedication to providing excellent Ph.D. programs by adding a new Enhanced Graduate Teaching Assistantship. This support is composed of a nationally competitive stipend along with full tuition remission, and will be offered to top applicants in each College of Business Ph.D. program beginning Fall 2010.
UT Arlington is an excellent place to pursue your business Ph.D. degree. The University’s enrollment of 26,000 includes over 5,000 business students and nearly 100 business Ph.D. students. Arlington is located in the center of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The DFW area has a population of around 5 million and is home to many Fortune 500 company headquarters. This fertile business environment provides many opportunities to work closely with companies on important business problems and research topics.
