At the University of Texas at Arlington, all business graduate degrees consist of core level and an advanced level of study. Courses at the core level cover the Common Body of Knowledge required for all undergraduate business degrees from a university accredited by the AACSB-International Association for Management Education. Depending on the applicant’s previous undergraduate coursework and performance, the following graduate business Deficiency/Core/Foundation courses (column 1) may be waived if an applicant has successfully completed (normally with a "B" grade or better) the counterpart undergraduate course (column 2). Undergraduate courses taken within the last 5 years may be used toward waivers; undergraduate courses 5 - 10 years old will normally be used towards waivers if there is adequate knowledge in the field. When undergraduate coursework is over 10 years old, continuous professional involvement in the field will be required.

*THESE JR/SR COURSES, IF TAKEN AT A JUNIOR COLLEGE, MAY NOT BE USED TOWARD WAIVERS.

PROBATIONARY ADMISSIONS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE TWO COURSES IN EACH WAIVER OF THE ABOVE CLASSES.

Note:

  1. "C" grades will be accepted when there is an upper division course in related area with a "B" or better grade.

  2. Degree holders wishing to raise their undergraduate GPAs must take courses at a four year college. In addition, the applicant must request the graduate school to include such courses in computing his/her GPA.

  3. If a bachelor’s degree is completed, core courses should be completed at the graduate level upon entering the program. Exceptions can be made, when an applicant has not taken the GMAT but wishes to start taking undergraduate courses to use as waivers.

  4. Both of the Accounting courses should be taken at the same level; ie, both at the graduate level or both at the undergraduate level.

Note: This information is based on the 2002-2004 Graduate Catalog. Program requirements are subject to change.
