Texas State Board of Public Accountancy CPA Candidate Forum Students of accounting interested in taking the CPA exam and becoming licensed as certified public accountants in Texas are invited to attend a forum on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Rosebud Auditorium, University Center, University of Texas at Arlington. The forum is sponsored jointly by the Fort Worth Chapter Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Department of Accounting, UTA. Speakers will be William Treacy, executive director of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, and Donna Hiller, qualifications director for the State Board.

Transfer Credit Validation The Accounting Department will no longer accept transfers of upper division accounting courses from other institutions unless the student successfully completes a knowledge validation exam. This policy now applies to all upper division course transfers. See your undergraduate advisor for more information.

TSCPA Excellence Award The Accounting Education Foundation of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants awarded the 2009 Accounting Excellence Award to UTA Accounting major Michelle St. Clair. Congratulations to Ms. St. Clair for her outstanding academic achievement.

FSA Student Achievement Award The Federation of Schools of Accountancy awarded their 2009 Student Achievement Award to UTA Accounting major Jessica Valek. Congratulations to Ms. Valek on her outstanding academic achievement.
