Dallas CPA Society: Vogel Scholarships

  • Overview of Vogel Scholarships
  • The Dallas CPA Society and Vogel and Company, P.C. established the Vogel scholarship program in memory of Philip Vogel, CPA. The purpose of the program is to provide scholarship assistance to junior, senior, and graduate accounting students who plan to be come Certified Public Accountants and enter the accounting profession.
  • Criteria
  • To be eligible for a Vogel scholarship an applicant must:
    1. Attend one of the following Dallas area colleges or universities: University of North Texas, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas A&M Commerce, Southern Methodist University, or the University of Texas at Dallas;
    2. Be a U.S. citizen; and
    3. Be a junior or senior accounting major, or a graduate accounting student, with the intent of becoming a Certified Public Accountant and entering the accounting profession upon graduation. Applicants may be full-time or part-time students.
  • Application Procedures
  • Application for a Vogel Scholarship is made through the Dallas CPA Society. To apply the applicant must submit:
    1. A typed or neatly printed application form signed by the chairperson of the university's accounting department;
    2. An official cumulative college transcript through the end of the preceding academic semester to include credit hours earned and cumulative GPA; and
    3. A letter addressed to the Vogel Scholarship Committee, Dallas CPA Society, explaining how the applicant meets the scholarship criteria, the applicant's need for financial assistance, and why the applicant wants to become a CPA.
  • The completed application and supporting documents should be submitted to:

  • Scholarship applications are accepted during March and April. To be considered an application must be received no later than April 30.
