Mid Cities Association of CPA's Scholarship

  • Purpose
  • The Mid-Cities Association of CPAs Scholarship was established to award a scholarship annually to an outstanding student majoring in accounting at The University of Texas at Arlington. Funding was provided by the Mid-Cities Association of CPAs and its members. This was the department’s first endowed scholarship.
  • About Mid Cities Association of CPA's
  • The Mid-Cities Association of CPAs was established in 1975 for Arlington area CPAs to promote and maintain high professional and moral standards; to advance accountancy by research and cooperation with similar organizations; to protect the interests of its members and the general public; and when feasible to act in a representative capacity for the profession. The association has been supportive of UTA through the granting of scholarships and meets monthly to provide fellowship and professional education for its members.
  • Criteria
  • To be eligible for the Mid-Cities Association of CPAs Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:
    1. Be a declared accounting major currently enrolled in a minimum of nine semester hours at The University of Texas at Arlington;
    2. Have completed a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours of accounting courses at The University of Texas at Arlington;
    3. Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall in courses completed at UTA, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in accounting courses completed at UTA, and be judged capable of completing a baccalaureate degree in accounting at UTA; and
    4. Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
