FAQs: Employment and Salaries
|
Q:
|
What kind of reputation does the UTA
accounting program have?
|
A:
|
UTA's accounting program has an
excellent reputation and is well regarded in the business community. The program is challenging, but provides the
foundation needed for long-run career success.
|
Q:
|
Will I be able to get a good job when I
complete my accounting degree?
|
A:
|
Although employment opportunities are
tied to the economy, the accounting field is relatively stable and many
organizations recruit UTA's accounting
graduates. You can enhance your chance of getting a good job by maintaining a
grade point average of 3.0 or better, actively participating in one or more of
our student groups, and completing an internship. If you want to work in public
accounting you should plan on meeting the requirements to take the CPA
examination by the time you graduate. Many CPA firms will only hire graduates
who are qualified to write the CPA examination at the time they begin
employment.
